The Haryn philosophy

Software should fit the business using it.

For many businesses, a tailored data or software solution once demanded too much money, time, and employee effort. The alternative was often generic software built to serve many different organisations at once. That mismatch shows up in everyday work: workarounds, spreadsheets, underused features, and processes left fragmented.

AI-powered engineering is changing the economics of building software. It makes tailored solutions attainable, while thoughtful use of AI can makes those solutions even more powerful. Haryn brings these opportunities together with the engineering discipline needed to build secure, reliable, maintainable systems.

We build Business Software and Data Platforms, individually or as connected systems. Each engagement starts with a comprehensive understanding of the business, refining the organisation's needs. Through Haryn Ventures, we also partner with selected startups in exchange for equity.

Name origin

A name with a shipbuilding history.

Haryn takes its name from the Haringvliet in Rotterdam, where Dutch shipwrights built the flagship of the Dutch navy: De Zeven Provinciën. The connection is one of purposeful craftsmanship: a flagship is made for a specific purpose and built to meet demanding conditions.

That same mentality shapes how we build software. We start with the business it must serve, design each part to work with the whole, and build for the demands of daily use. A successful launch is only the beginning: the real measure is how well a solution serves its crew over time.

Made for a purpose. Built for real conditions.

The background behind Haryn

Enterprise experience. Applied to your business.

Haryn was founded by Bart de Baat, whose background spans enterprise data and AI platforms across healthcare, financial services, and retail. Working in regulated, security-sensitive environments has shaped a practical understanding of what it takes to move from an initial idea to systems people rely on.

That experience includes designing and building an enterprise AI platform for a national healthcare organisation and leading the modernisation of a data platform. The lessons extend beyond technology: understand the business, make responsibilities clear, and plan for reliable operation from the start.

Haryn brings that discipline to tailored software and data solutions, using AI-powered engineering to make delivery faster and more practical. The aim is not to bring enterprise complexity into every business, but to apply the care that matters: sound design, secure systems, and software that can evolve.
